The Coccinelle (ladybug) had the hydropneumatic suspension of the DS, and the drivetrain of the 2CV. Also, half gullwing doors, mid-engineish FWD layout and a rear track half that of the front track. Because Citroën.

Using aircraft techniques, the body of the four seat family car only weighed 382kg (842 lb) and had perspex windows. Since those scratch easily, wipers couldn't be used, and the driver had to open a carefully designed slot that kept sight clear, and rain out.
For some peculiar reason, management wasn't entirely convinced by this design by André Lefèbvre, the genius engineer of the Traction Avant, 2CV and DS. Instead, they developed the entirely conventional and forgettable Ami 6 :

Flaminio Bertoni's last styling effort for Citroën after the achingly beautiful Traction Avant and the DS. Oh, and the 2CV as well.
I don't know what he was thinking, but someone should have stopped him.
